FINER THINGS IN LIFE CLUB

It’s nice to see all the buttons I’ve designed worn at the same time!

The Finer Things In Life Club has given me the opportunity to exercise my design and button making skills monthly and I am truly grateful for it. :)

anna’s invites

Design is coming at me in all directions which I am grateful for. Ever since being laid-off, I have been craving routine and work. Non-stop work. Lucky for me, my family members know how to keep me busy.

I was tasked with designing my aunt’s fiftieth birthday bash’s invite. Inspired by my aunt’s love for bright colours and patterns, I designed the invite with the intention of making it delightful and fun. Reaching 50 is worthy of a great celebration!

web mock-ups for dr. simmons

My friend Breana approached me for design help. She is a faculty member at EGA and is able to have her own homepage for her students to get more information from. I designed two mock-ups after conversing with her on what sort of look and feel she was going for. Being one of the funniest and friendliest women I know, I had to make her site reflect the sort of instructor she is without compromising her tenacity, professionalism and smarts.

tree print

I’ve been thinking a lot about design and being “green” lately which has inspired me to use more organic elements in my work. I was thinking about tree rings and human fingerprints and I drew this tree:

I have no use for it now, but in the future, it could be just the element I need..

autumn feelings..

I’m kind of obsessed with hand drawing things, tracing them in Illustrator and then colouring them. And I am also really liking the Steinem family of fonts. And also ochre, mustard and butter yellows! Ahhh.. autumn.

MOBILE GUN TATTOO

Uncle Bobby is a tattoo artist on-the-go. He’s inked a few family members as well as some fortunate citizens of the greater L.A. Since his growing popularity, he needed business cards to promote himself and have others spread the word. He came to me for design help and I put together a design for him.

cefiore logo finalisation

After months of struggling with trying to make a logo work for the company, we decided on one and unleashed a torrent of new marketing materials, uniforms, and cups. I am happy with the direction the aesthetics are headed in, even though the current market for frozen yogurt seems to be taking a hard hit. I’m working on design for hard-packed pint packages and it’s rather challenging..

machine labels – mock-ups

Often times, while I’m at work, I brainstorm. I come up with ideas for taking things in a new direction, and I just go for it. Sometimes, my ideas are welcomed with ease, sometimes, they’re met with skepticism and that challenges me to explain the methods of my madness. Fortunately, working with my marketing director, I’ve been allowed creative freedom to take hold of the reigns and “go for it”. I definitely like experimenting.

moonsocket mock-up

Worked on a new design for a friend’s diary..

garage sale paintings

After working with images all day, editing and retouching and shooting again and again, I was ready for some fun. I took pictures of paintings from garage sales and inserted some dinosaur friends. I completed one before I was called upon to do some more shooting.

The life of a designer!
